Job Description

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Bentley University – an independent, private business university located in suburban Boston – invites applications for a Lecturer in mathematics and statistics beginning in Fall 2018. In addition to teaching duties, this position will assist with curriculum development, advise undergraduate students and participate in service activities. Salary and teaching load are competitive.

The department has undergraduate programs in Actuarial Science and Mathematical Sciences, a graduate program in Business Analytics and will offer a new undergraduate program in Data Analytics beginning in Fall 2018. We seek individuals with interest in teaching applied mathematics, probability and statistics. Candidates with interest in teaching Data Mining, Data Science, Time Series Modeling or Operations Research are especially encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications

A PhD in mathematics, statistics or a closely related field is preferred, but candidates with Master’s degrees and additional professional qualifications such as actuarial credentials, continued participation in scholarly activities or consulting experience will be considered.
